Why a Home on the Course?

Although I normally talk about lag putting, playing the game of golf has taught me how beautiful the environment and setting is during the course of play. Having lived on a 20 acre farm for 25 years before playing golf in earnest, I was used to a beautiful view from both my front and back pastures. But having that view, was only available at the expense of a lot of hard work. This brings me to my point: the golf course environment is among the best in the world in which we live.

With that observation and my previous farm experience, I concluded the best place to live is on a golf course, even if you don’t play golf. Now if you think you might agree with this premise, than let’s optimize it by being selective to the location one might want to pick on a golf course.

  • First, locating on the signature hole where a lake, pond, waterfall, fountain or other upgrading assets exist is a good start.

  • A home located where not only the signature hole can be viewed, but 2 or 3 adjacent holes with the trees, grass, flowers and natural habitats can be enjoyed is also an improved asset.

  • Lastly, having your home located at, behind or at a distance away from the tee boxes is a great choice so you don’t have player traffic or ball damage on your property.

Making this kind of choice provides you all the beauty, benefits and enjoyment of a large estate without the maintenance, costly upkeep and utilities associated with large properties. I pass this on since I have enjoyed this home setting for the last 17 years. Without all the work of home upkeep and being in a home owner’s association, the world of enjoyment and relaxation is greatly enhanced.
